On January 10, 2016, I had the opportunity to join a "Meet-Up" group called the Capitol City Shooters Photography Group for their Snowy Dreamland Shoot. I had the opportunity to meet 16 other photographers and work with 6 beautiful models. It was a great experience because not only did I get to work with these other photographers, but I got to shoot very talented and beautifully stylized models.
Although there were six different models, I couldn't help but be drawn to a couple that quickly ended up being my favorites to work with. Maybe it was the bright blue sequined tule dress that first caught my eye. But Taia's infectious smile and ease in front of the lens seemed to be a perfect match for what I had in mind to capture.
My other favorite model had a Red Riding Hood theme going on and I loved it! Devinia had such breathtaking eyes and her hair was looking perfect (that is until she got a tree load of snow dumped on her, but she still looked amazing)!
I definitely hope to work with these models again sometime soon!
Let's not forget that although I had my snow boots, knitted hat, gloves, thermal underwear, multiple layers of clothing, topped off with a large winter coat- I was still freezing. So I can't even begin to imagine how cold these girls were. Not to mention that the snow kept dumping off of the trees onto them. They were real troopers and I am so grateful that they came out and endured the elements all for the sake of some art!
